Budapest, Magyar Allatorvosok Lapja, Vol 18, No 9, Sept 63, pages 358-360. Abstract: [Authors' English summary modified] The mc6Lture content of differ- ent live vaccines for veterinary use has been determined using Flosdorf's, K. Fisherts and Beckett's methods. In general, the first two methods gave higher results than the third one. Especially large difference in the results was found with samples of the Newcastle disease virus, containing glucose. This may be due to the moisture retention of glucose. In the evalu- ation of Beckett's method it is stressed that the determination is carried out in a closed system throughout, the material remains unchanged during the determination and small quantities of the material are sufficient. The test, however, is lengthy and not suited for serial determinations. The average moisture content of vaccines produced by the authors and tested by Beckett's method were: 0.3 per cent for lapinized swine fever vaccine; 0.7, 0.8, 1.0 per cent for Newcastle disease vaccines; 1.3 per cent for brucellosis vaccine. Abstract: On the basis of the orientation reaction (by pro- jection of a picture on a screen), after one or more reinforcements, a conditioned motor reaction was elaborated in children age 3-7.
