Abstract: ITcuthorol Russian summary modifie2d The author.,; &iscuss a rare but extremely sitpificazit complication subsoquent to abdominal operations which frequently ends in death if not recognized and1reated in good time. Analysis of four sufferers from postoperative pancroatit4S leads the authors to draw special attention to early clinical symptoms as of great importance to correct dia&nosis. Stress is laid on investigation of the diastase and attentive folloirup care durinG the postoperative period. Conservative therapy is recommended with t-ho application of "trazil-ol." In the event such treatment is inadequate to --tem progres- sive necrosis in the pancreas, 'he authors propose revizion of the ab- dominal cavity with an opening of the caooule of the gland to permit drainage. Most of the complications consisted of disturbances of the evacuatory function in 91 cases. They were treated conservatively with good results. Qie of them required repeated laparatomy and examination of the anastomosis4 The ,most severe complications were those with prolapse of the anastomosis and sutures of the duodenal stump .. a total of 2.61%. Fizika, astronomiya, no. 3, 1962, 3-16 144 i 144 TEXT- The decay types of Ce in an odd-odd:Pr nucleus are studied b,,, me-Lnn ol a '~-a-~~ectrometer and a luminescen'Ce 0 -spectrometer in coincidence circuit, using P-e_,e_-e_ and e--~ coin'cidencee to explain cer- tain problems. The results are in a6rtement with the decay scheme of 1. S. Geiger et al. (Nucl. Phys., 16, 1, 1960). Theo-e- and e--p- coincidence measurements were performed both 4pon.all electrons (total coincidences) and upon individual electron groups separated by a differential discriminator. The variants of the decay scheme can be examined by comparing the intensity of the conversion lines in the coincidence spectrun. The results from measuring P-e- 'and e--e- coincidences are summarized in Fig. I and Fig. 21 those of V-e- and e--.i,' Oincidences in Fig. 4 and Fig- 5, discussed in detail for the individual Ca~rd 1/f S/18 62/O0O/OG3/GC1/012 Study of the decay types ... A change of the CdS work function was observed after dry air has been let into the system. The work function was measured for samples of US containing impurities of Cr and 11. The ohotosensitivity of the samples can be deduced from the diffe- rences in the work function as measured under illumination and in the darkness. /-Abstracter's note: Complete translation._7 Card 1/1 FB`ULCARIA P. Abstract: Tests with Bulgarian-made benzathine penicillin, dissolved in special penicillin solvent of State Drug Control Institute (Dirzhaven kontrolen institut za lekarstvenia sredstva), 6 to 8 ml. required for 1.2 million units as given to each of 8 children with rheumatic fever. Serum concentration tested on days 1-20 post-injection by inhibition of Sarcina lutea strain: irregular, only low level remained in only 4 on day 18, none on day 20. Desiderata for Ideal long-acting preparation are discussed. Table. 1/1 _J GULUBOV, G., prof~; VASILEV, V. Trau-tic injuries to the lumbar spine as a result of irertleal weight-bearing. Eight of the cases were severe and 20 were accompanied by pneumonia. An investigation showed that the focus of infection was a sheep breeding farm at wh1oh 64 members of the detachment slept. Tprenty of those who slept at the farm caught the disease. A number of sheep at the farm were affected by mastitis, and bortions or were sterile. The changes, traced during transitions from vacuum to air or from vacuum to hydrogen, indicate the adsorption of the foreign molecules or atoms and the formation of a definite dipole moment on the metal layers, when degree of surface coverage ~9 = 1. Changes of 429 are plotted, with time, in a series of graphs for the metals tested (a passivate-I gold plate being used as''the standard electrode). The averaged values of jump changis in work function for the Card 1#,~- ACCESSION NR: AS'401'M3 four metals studied are given in Table 1 of the Enclosure. Computed with*the use of formula mF,- n, " -2 Vn-, were*changes occurring in an effective dipole moment formed when air or hyaroGen was .!adsorbed on Al, Ag, Cu and Au. The work shows that the initial values of work func- tion 0) must be known in order to obtain more accural;e on a surface (with ;values of the changes observed in electronic work function during the adsorption of a particular gas on a metal plate or to obtain the values of the dipole moments de- res that the metal be evaporated in a high degree of rived therefrom. Yasilev, A. Angelov, G. Anadoliyev Inst : Not Given Title : The Cherry Tree in the Eastern Rodopi Orig Pub : Ovoshcharstvo i gradinarstvo, 1956, 110 5, 5-9 Abstract : The cherry tree is the most widespread cultivation in the Eastern Rodopi where it thrives on any soil and location, ap- pears on flat ground as well as on slopes of UP to 300, in valleys and elevations of up to 900 m above sea level, it blooms early and bears fruit every -year. Almost without carej the trees reach huge dimensionL, UP to 15 m in height, and yield crops of 50 to 200 Ig from one tree. Besides the European varieties (Napoleon, Denison, Drogan yellow and others), there are many local seed forms and kinds, as well as sone improved wild forms. Some of the local kinds even form root shoots (a rather rare phenomenon for this sort). A description of 5 local varieties of the cherrj is given: white (Akkirez), red (Kyxmzakirez), black (Karakirez), Bitme (Khadzhi maalebitme) Card 1/1 and Droganka. VASITEV) V. VASIIEV, V.
