"The Phencvienon off -Ii-dotoxin Hypersensitivity and Its Relp-tion to the
Shweatzman Phen= enoa"
Budapest; Acta Pinyri-ologica Acnrleml',,~c Rcientiaruri 11ungarica'e, Vol. 2.`1
No 27 1963, pp.
Abstra,:;t: F.Englis!2 az-ticle; auth-ors' E~aglish sumviary, abbreviated]
The authors succeeded in eliciting a generalized Schwartzman phenane-
non-like '&idney lesion in gainea-pigs by a single In-travenous endo-
toxin dose under reticuicendothalical bloekade. The reac-~io_- following
the injection J.Lto the sk-in of rabbits displays the &-oss a2:~d micro-
scopic picture of the delayed type of hypersensitivity reaetion. The
phenomenon of endotoxin hypersensitivity is probably a natural h~T.,er-
zwnsitivity which exists in every r-a=--l .4ZI symbiwis -with endotoxin-
producing x1croorganismz. ThArty-four referencee, _I-icludiag 1 G.--r-
