The study is drawing attention to the relatively frequent, although hidden and,
in a way, different, neuropathic terrain of the so-called spasmophilic neuropathy,
determination of which is important for the prevention, diagnosis, inspection, and
therapy in various branches of medicine. It is determined by certain tests, i.e. by
the phenomena of the mechanical idioneural excitability ponitively demareated in
certain peripheral nerves. The book is intended for physicians in all medical fields.

Abstract: Studies on effect on tryptorhan metabolism of d-, l-, and
racemic cycloserine revealed that the 1-isomer has strongest effect. It
also had tranquillizing and antidepressant effect in 5 of 8 patients
given 50 to 100 mg. thrice daily for 2 to 3 weeks. Five Soviet, 2 Czech
(I unpub.) 3 Western and 1 Japanese reference.

Abstract: Imirramine and prorancrine were found not te afftct 'IL%O in
vivo in rat liver and brain, but re~cated daily doses over 4 days
arrar,~ntly actually increased I-LNO activity in the liver. Both drugs
decreased serotonin adsorption by platelets in vitro, and neither affec-

5-hydroxyndolac~tic acid excretion in man (I. and d. do not affect it)
both Lysenyl and Descril had potent reripheral antiscrotonin effect in
rr,,.n, but did not affect flush syndrome in argentaffinoma. Seven
