TEM Problems of diffusion and of its qualitative dependence on the sur-
face state in the contact of two bodies are considered. The Imprints produced
by plane Pb-foil figures and by quartz crystals on glass surface are shown. It
ha.-~ been discovered that particles coating a photoemulsion surface which contains
a latent image, induce a process of regression in it; thus, on photographs of
n6gatives, the surface of which contained quartz slices and Al-foil figures, they
produced clear seotions on the exposed plate surface. The electron-diffraction
figures from glass plates being in contact with a polished quartz surface corres-
ponded to a substance with cubic lattice and a w 5.68 R. In the case of Cu -
glass contact, Cu2O reflexes were detected, and a = 4.26 R. The surface impurities
