Based on these results, the author concluded that: 1) the reserpine treat- ment of patients suffering from second and third stage hypertonia has a considerable hypotensive effect. Reserpine can be used in combination with other hypotensive means; 2) a combined treatment with reserpine and other hypotensive preparations is expedient in case the reserpine administered to the Card 1/2 patient remains ineffective in the course of three SOV/177-58-5-7/30 Application of Reserpine (Serpasil) to Patients Suffering From Hypertonia weeks; 3) treatment with reserpine is to be started with small doses which can be increased gradually in case of insufficient hypotensive results-, 4) myo- cardial infarction and cerebral insultus in the patient's anamnesis are no indication that reser- pine should not be applied. Cold air and air preheated to 55-IOOC were used as the hot and cold gases. The cold air was, injected aL 1-6 m1sec through a slit parallel to a corrugated wall consisting of ebonite cylinder sectlons. These sections were mounted on a panel and placed in the 150-mm-wide rectangular test section. Velocity and temperature profiles were meas.- ured at the inlet and in various cross sections of the test section. The data were correlated in terms of the main gas flow viscosity, wall temperature, Re, olds num- .M ber, and distance from the inlet. The efficiencies of cold gas jets for protecting smooth and corrugated walls are compared.
