PERIODICAL: Ogneupory, 1959, Nr 6, pp 272-276 (USsa)
ABSTRACTs Up to now comparatively few papers ctealt~~ith the problem
of a possible increase of the heat resistlance of corundum
products. In this connection the names of!V. L. Balkevich,
V. A. Bron, W. Smothers, H. Reynolds, D~~,11. Poluboyarinov,
and I. N. Silina are mentioned. The authors of thin paper
made it their task to find the influence,,of va'riouki factors
on the heat resistance of corundum tests, lat a temparature
range of from room temperature to 2,000 They exanined the
influence of additions of titanium dioxide, magaeaium fluoride/
as well ac the insertion of electro-meltOd corundum in
masses of technical alumine,on the heatirleeistance of corundum
