Abst ract : Tested the effects of' -comb-i-ned administration of vitarain Bl with each of
the fol~Lowing: papaverinep salsoline,, and dibasol. Vitamin B, with
papaverIne prolongs the action of the papaverine. Combined admin*stra-
tion ofivitamin Bl with salsoline increased the time of hypotensiv'e ac-
tion ir.,only 45% of the experiments. Combining vitamin Bl with dibasol
increaebs the hypotensive effect of the latter by prolonging the time
and ex -at of its action. The experiments were conducted on cats of both

Experiments In which pachycarpine, tetreethylammonium, nicotine,
pentamine, and hexone were utilized as gangliolytic agents revealed that
pachycarpine in doses of 10-15 trilligrams per kilogram of body weight,
nicotine in doses of 1-1.2 milligrams per kilogram of body weight,
pentamine in doses of 1-2 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, and
tetraethylammonium in doses ~Df 10-15 milligrams per kilogram of body
volght, when administered into the superior cervical ganglion of cats,
In addition to their blocking action produced a drop in the total amount
;O-f fractions of adenosine trLphosphate, cdenosine diphosphate, and
pbosphocreatine. The results were different when hexone was used: de-
,spite its full blocking effect oi' ganglion transmission, it caused no
change In the content of phoaphoric fractions, although it did cause
a drop of 38 percent in phosphocreatine. The experiments established
that while some gangliolyticti -- pachycarpine, nicotine, pentamine, and
tetraethylammonium -- In add',Ition to their blocking action cause a drop
in the.content of phosphoric,fractions, others, likehexone, carry out

TITLE: Conditions of Storage and Losses of Weight in Frozen Meat in Refrig-
erated Chamber equipped with Heat Insulation Jacket

ABSTRACT: The article describes tests conducted by VNIKhI with a view to de-
termining the effect of jackets surrounding refrigeration rooms.
Tests were conducted on an extensive scale over aperiod of 2 years,
Under ordinar"j conditions the average prevailing temperature was -17 0C
with a humidity content of the air of 97%. The loss of weight in fr-zen
meat due to infl-ax of heat from the surrounding cold chambers vras twice
as big as tne loss observed in regard to frozen meat, stored in a
Jacket surrounded cold chamber. Losses can still be reduced, if by
means of proper automation a steadier temperature Is maintained. To
prevent air currents from taking place inside, it is necessary to place

should be properly insulated. Tests wert3 carried out in the Moscow
Refrigeration Warehouse Nr 12 and revea)-,3d that the jacket-enclosed cold
storage room constitutes a great improvement in the prevention of meat
shrinkage and reduction of losses In weight. In the case cf a single
story refrigeration plant, a better solution for the design of the
jacket may be found by providing a forced air circulation inside t~'_e
jacket through a narrow air hole.

~,TEXT:- Experiments were carried out on selecting an etching agent for
detection in Si single-oryntals.:- A 3-component system of U9
M10.3t and CH300011 was investigated as well as a system of the same acids,
but with Br additions. The optitaum relation-of the ucids was found to be
equal to (100). If small amounts of Br (0.00 ml) are added to this
system, the time of etch pit detection deoreases to some degree, and if
iincreaead,amounts of Br are added, the density of detected etch pits
reduces greatly, It was found that the acid concentration had a great
-,,.effect on the quality of etching. Optimum acid concentrations &rot for
HF 50-52%t for W?03 60-62~*, and for CH300H glacial concentration.

made and grafting experiments have proved successful. Several
of these varieties are describel.
