Sevcnty-scvcn cases of adenomas of the hypoph sis had been operated on at the

and 5 adcnomas histologically non-diffcrcntiatcd) were operated on exclusively by

TEXT: The authors studied the effect of the degree of cold hardening upon
the proneness to retarded failure of carbon steel 0.45 and 0.85% C) in hydrogen-:'
saturated specimens (by the method of cathodic polarization). Wires 1.5 - 3 mm
in diameter, were tezted. The wires were heat~treated under difPerent conditions-"*"
and then cold-hardened by drawing (UP to 70%). It was established that with a
higher degree of cold hardening there is an increased period of time between the
beginning of cathodic polarization until the breakdown of the specimen (under
tension at stresses which are 20 - 80% of eb). At low and medium degrees of
cold hardening (up to about 5Q%) the increasing time of retarded failure is In-

a higher degree of deformation. At a high degree of cold harden-
ing this period increases sharply.. The critical degree of cold hardening, cor-
responding to a sharp increase in the time of retarded failure, depend!! upon'.the
preceding heat-tr6atment and initial stress. Preliminary long-lasting H2-satura-
tion of unloaded specimens, causes,.during subsequent, tests for retarded failure
(under conditions of continuing H2-saturation), a sharp decrease in time until
the failure,.independent of the heat treatment applied to the steel, and whether
or not it was subjected to cold hardening. There are 15 references.

In such a resonator.,the magnetic field H has:a maximum near the
wall of the cavity, ii'hilethe electric field B ha's a maximum at
its center. A non-metallic shaft passes eccentrically through the Y'
resonator, and a metal cylinder is fixed to it which can be displa:.il~
ced through a semicircle. Near the maximum of the electric field the
cylinder behaves'as a capacitive reactancet while near the maximuq~.
of the magnetic field it behaves as a short--:circuited ring., Rota-t---
tion of*the cylinder causes a change in the resonant frequency of4~
the cavity, and this frequency can be directly read from a pointer'
attached to the shaft. The frequency coverage is about 1 2.2.

The s-alt bridge connecting the solution to be

The same electrode system is used in all the i-

corresponding to the reduction of V(4+) to VX3+).
During the titration of acidified solutions of

are observed in the titration curves; the first

Abstract Laboratory experiments have sbown that on cal-
cining in an electric furnace of a finely com-
minuted mixture of Lola apatite, sand and NaCI,
contained in a tube through which steam is pas-
sed, it is possible to produce a fertilizer con-
taining up to 31% of total P 0 of which 80%
'
are citric-soluble. S-WosequeOe

appreciable removal of F from the apatite (the
F content of the final product did not exceed
