Abstract i Adetailed examination is made of the.problem of the mea-
surement of the nonlinear distortions of frequency modula-
tion in tuned networks and in double-tuned band filters.
The demodulator with amplitude limiter was used for the
measurements. Also constructed woX an original amplitude

an original amplitude limiter with an adjustable -limitation
effectiveness. . An investigation was made of thelependence
of~the distortion of a frequency of modulation, on the de-
vi'aition, and on the detuning of the network. The known for-
mulas, as well as those derived by the author for the cal-
oulation of the distortion, have been verified. An attempt
tb measure small dynamic distortions was unsuoces sful. orviing
to the inherent distortion of the measuring appamtus, In
order to produce a theory of distortion at incomplete li-
mitation., an investigation was, made, of the distortion in the
case of demodulation without amplitude limitation. It Yras
established that the principal portion of the distortion
is made up by the third harmonic, and in case of detuned
circuits, also the second harmnio. The distortion coeffi-
