A simple method of isolating lanthanwn from a mixture of,rare-earth

elements is given. The-,method consists In repeated leaching of cerium-free Ian-
-thanides with an NH4N03 solution. "Experiments were conducted with phosphate con-
centrate originating from Kola apatites and containing about 15% of rare-earth
elements. The concentrate was supplied by Docent Doctor T. Mazgaj, the Director
of the Instytut Nawoz6w Sztucznych (Institute of.Syrythetic Fertilizers) in Tarn-
6w. During the-experiments, lanthanum oxide (La2O3) of about 9995 purity was ob-
tained after three leachings. The repetition of the process leads to a more com-
plete isolation of lanthanum oxide from the mixture. There are: 1 figure, 1
table and 10 referenceso. 4 German, 4 Englishand 2 Soviet.

a propeller, with given geometric parameters, operating inan oblique flow is pre-

peller.: Using simplified assumptions, relations are derived for axial and peripheral
velocitY distributions and the pressure distribution in the propeller rotation plane.

An Increase, of copper in the serum of tb patients wan regularly observed, an a fact-
or associated with the intensity of tuberculous lesions. Copper level in the patients'
serum was determined In 15 cases of tb meningitis and encephalitis treated with iso-
niazid ('HX.IN'). In all these patients an increase'of copper was found, evan after
the disappearance of symptoms of the infection.
