Institution: Noine Title: Gas Concrete Based on Entrainment Ash of Leningrad Heat and Power Stations Original Publication: Novaya tekhn. i peredov. opyt v str-ve, 1956, No 6, n-14 Abstract: It was found that on the basis of entraiment-ash of Leningrad electric power stations it is possible to produce gas concrete with a volumetric weight of 820-950 kg/m3 and a compression strength of 80-100 kg/cm2. Expenditure of Portland cement is of 160-230 kg/m3,, that of aluminum porwder 200-300 g/m3. There is described the tech- nology of production of large gas concrete wall blockB, the manufac- ture of which is being set up at the Leningrad plant of Trust No 20. Inst Title Cellular Concrete. Orig Pub Novaya tekhn geredov, opyt v str-ve, 19569 No 7, ~42 Abstract Data on cellular concrete (CC) obtained from foreign publications are given. The influ- ence of the type and quality of gasifying agents, bond, aggregate, and of various -technical parameters is dicussed. It is in- dicated that the setting time of CC can be re- duced by the application of autoclave treatment or by the addition of small amounts of gypsum, Card 1/2 USSR/Chemical Technology - Chemical Products and I-10 Their Applications - Silicates. Glass. Ceramics. Binders. Abs Jour Ref Zhur - Khimiya, No 39 1957, go82 as proposed by Gruen. The hardening time of CC which have not been treated in an auto- --lave attains 70-90 days. The crushing strength of autoclaved CC is about two times greater than that of concrete which has not been passed through an autoclave. Swedish firms are marketing foamcon rete with a bulk density of 0.1+ - 0.6 tops/ms and a crushing strength of 30-80 kg/cm4. The factors affect- ing the strength of CC are listed and data are presented on the strength of 6C of dif- ferent bulk density, on their thermal conduc- tivity, the degree of heat resistance, and their sound-insulating properties. The aggregates were graded by specific weight and strength. In all cases the grains. were similar in 6hape and surface cbaracteristics and the intergranular space woo about 47%. Samples were also made with crushed aggregates of various .strengths and specific weights. Strength as a function of cement content was also tested, and results are shown by ternary diagrams (nomograms). Concrete mixturea contained the following fractions by volume: 15% 12 mm, 20% 1.2 to 5 mm, 27% 5 to 10 mm, 38% io to 20 mm. Samples were cured -in steam ovens. Strength details of.samples containing various proportions .of Portland *cement and aggregates of various strengths are compared in tables and graphs and are discussed extensively. No pathological changes in internal organs were found. Vegetative vascular distur- bances, a tendency towards anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and an increased reaction of erythrocyte precipitation wera found to be present. P. Gradun, Z. L. Rabinovich, Kibernettka, No. 1, 1965), the present paper establishes an algorithm for the ordered retrieval of lists which is In many cases faster than the beat wdst- ing algorithms. The detailed presentation of the algorithm Is followed by an estimate of its speed and a comparison with the M. 11. Levin (RCA Review, v. 23, n. 3, 1962) and Ahrens (RCA Review, v. 24, n. 3, 1963) algorithms. If the sign search time is 10, tile address search time is 10 the base is 2, the number of binary order within one memory cell Is 50, the number of digits In the sign code Is 10, and m Is the number of words comprising the list, then, starting with m >, 2, the new algorithm Is faster than the Levin algorithm, and for m.>, 4 the same is true with respect to the Ahrens approach. At very large and small m1s, the speed of the algorithm may be increased further by the use of auxiliary scales.
