The inertia damper motor can assure eff Icient damping of an automatic system with different values of Its transmission coefficient even when the moment of inertia and the coefficient of the high-speed magnetic disk damping are constant. If, however, a motor of the same type to used as 9-n all-purpose damper at a very high drop in the system 1 transmission coefficient, this may be achieved by- adjusting the mapette damping coeffict- ent within a small range - These recommendations are valid for cases when the moment of inertia of the controll;A plant Is smaller or close to the moment of inertia of the motor UDC Card -1/2 -WIR N-1 M ;V IIZE E L 21976-66 JACC NR: AP6007868 rotor. --It is shown in-the analysis-that inertia damper motors are promising for-high-effici- ency, lew--power automatic systems in which a-c amplifiers are used without the conver- sion of the modulzUing signal Into a&rnatingcurrent. Input circuits are connected to a common output in succession which is materialized by sequential gating of selectors by generator pulses. An experimental model used cold-cathode gas tubes in a ring-scaler circuit as a selector-pulse generator, electon tubes as selectors, an electron-beam tube for indication, and a special beam-blackout circuit for noise suppression. A maximum switching frequency of dozens ko is claimed, as am these advantages: low power consumption, linear signal transfer with an input-voltage variation of 60 6. and easy serviceability. Two types of titanium were used: a forged 12-mm dia. titanium rod of a guaranteed purity of 99.5%; iodide titanium which was additionally purified by zonal fusion to a purity of at least 99.9%. The forged titanium contained the-following impurities (in %)s 0.05 Fe; 0.03 Cl; 0.03 Si; 0.05 C; 0.02 N 2 0-911 02* The tests were made in the Card 1/3 S/139/61/000/005/007/014 Investigation of .... E073/9335 _-temperature range 1 000 1 500 OC by the method of thermal cycling, whereby each specimen was tested with a constant load at-various.temperatures. _'~he loads.applied in the tests were 2 12.96, 15.62, 19.6 and 26.35 kv/cm This enables eliminating the influence of individual pecAimiUes of the specimen, which is particularly important when investigating the activation energy of creep. It waa found that the activation energy of steady- state creep of 0-titanium did not depend on the test temperature or on the applied stresses. For the applied stresses the creep activation energy of 0-titanium was lower than the activation energy of the self-diffusion of 0-titanium and corresponded to limi.t valueg of Q , which were calculated from the conditions of transItIon from the solid into the liquid aiate. In a vacuum of about 10-5 at 1200C, the creep rate was constant for more than 10 hr. The specimens did not fail and the material was very ductile. The steady state of a bistable multivibrator.is characterized by two conditions of stability: 1) Ugkl ~~ 0, that is, the current-carrying tube is controlled till the region of grid current; 2) Ugk25 -JEgmaxi, that is, the negative grid potential of the other tube is at leas t as large as its blocking voltage. The latter are included in the stabilization factor y which is represented in practice by the fol- lowing approximate expression: y -_ 2(~R 8R + 8E + CE ), where R a k 1 and R2 are divider resistances, Ea is the working potential, Ek is the grid bias, and SR1 - 6R11"1- The larger the values allowed by the two stability conditions, the larger may be the spread of the operational quantities without endangering the stability,of the circuit. If Ek is S RI - 1 infinitely large, y reaches the maximum value y 0 a- where S max - SoRio 4 1' 0 is the mutual conductance, R io the direct-current resistance at the operating point, and R' the anode resistance. The anode resistance RI must not exceed the value a R' yR + (1+Y)/S , so that the switching frequency has an upper amin io 0 limit. To avoid these difficulties, the authors propoce aJ phase-rota:tion device with the following characteristics: 1) from the input signal th circuit forms two output signals with a pl-.ase difference of 900 for all frequency com- ponents; 2) output phase characteristics are in logarithmic dependence on frequency; 3) amplitude-frequency characteristics are straight and parallel to the frequency axis;! 4) working frequency ranges are from2O to300 and from 60 to 900 cps; 5) the accuracy of phase rotation is '20. This system will record only the geometrical envelope of the PKG signal, which gives full information on the form, amplitude, and duration of sound signals and is sufficient for clinical analysis of PKG'a. The idea oil using envelopes in medical electronics is not new, and the drawbacks of envelope'recording Card L 4729~,-66 AP6032012 for low-frequency.processeo have been described. The authors ccxrpared their syste.-j i jagainst a conventional full-wave detector with equal charge and discharge times in itsi ismoothing filter. It was found that the detector did not give envelopes as good as I !those obtained with the proposed instrument. Orig. art. ban: 3 formulas, I circuit 1dja&ram,_,and 2 figures.
