ABSTRACT:- The authors state that the application of x-ray microanalysis in the
study of steels and alloys in the cast state makes it possible to obtain valuable
information on the micro-inhomogeneities of the distribution of alloying elements.
The authors provided graduated graphs for determining the quantitative amount of
vanadium, chromium, molybdenum, manganese and nickel in the subject steel. Micro-
photographs of the dendrite structure were presented. The chemical composition of
the carbides in cast steel 91-481 is presented in a tablaq The presence of a large
amount of primary carbides# rich In chromium, vanadium, and molybdenum in the
interaxial sectors, masks the true. tendency toward dendrite inhomogensity of these
elements. The degree of liquation determined by the ratio of the vmx4=,m and minfwm
.solid state concintrations is loss than the true tendency of these elements to

analysin is described by T. V. Yegorshina and S. B. 14aslonkov (Zavodskaya
laboratoriya 1964 No. 3.1). The oyperimental rosulto are summarized In graphs and
tables (see Fig. 1~. It was found that dendritic and zonal liquation takes place
during gradual crystallization of both alloys and strongly decroason the mechanical
properties of the latter. Rapid crystallization and homogenization prevents the
occurrence of dondritic and zonal liquation and onhancos the mechanical properties 4f

TEXT: The author considers briefly the beam wobbling of linear and
of two-dimensional antenna arrays consisting of N identical non-di-
rectional radiators. Analysis of the beam frequency scanning shows
a theoretical possibility of designing antennae with linear and two-
dimensional scanning of the directivity diagrams The formulas ob-
tained permit a practical evaluation of parameters of linear and
two-dimensional arrays for a given scan sectorp number of scanst
beam-width and frequency deviation# In practical applications of
frequency scanned antennae it is also necessary to consider the de-
sign of delay structures and of their losses. The author acknowled-
ges the help of L.S. Benenson. There are 3 figures.

ABSTRACT: The author adduces examples of the use of automatic welding in the
fabrication of excavators, cylindrical articles, and Tee and box
beams for frameworks and gantry cranes. He lists the welding
machines suitable for the various respective uses, also the engi-
neering and cost characteristics of the various fabrication proc-
esses. The author points to the elevated productivity of three-
phase automatic welding machines.
