ABSTRACT: Isotactic,polvpropylano was obtained by radical polymerization of
propylene at 7000 atmospheres pressure and at temperatures of 100 or 200C. The
polymerization of propylene occurs in the presence of ouch initiators as
azobutyronitrile;.benzoyl peroxide, and tort.butylparoxide (as well as without
them). The molecular voight of the polymer obtained at 200C in the presence of
bonzo.vl poroxido was 900. Infrared spectroscopy ohowod that tho polyTrar was in a
,state of isobactio configurations This was confirmed by x-ra photographs. Tho'
,Polypropylene obtained by radical polymerization at 200G was W49% Inotactiop
:while the one obtained at 100G was 5446% isotactice The degree of crystallinity
