ABSTRACT: A multichannel AC-supplied remote-control systeem of the Institute of
Automation and Telemechanics, AS USSR, subsequently simplified by the
Dnepropetrovsk Institute of RR -Transportation Engineers, is described. A
technical and economic comparison between the simplified system and the
initial system is made. The simplified system is more economical with over-
head wire channels; the initial system is more economical with Underground-
cable channels. Eight illustrations. Bibliography- 8 items.

ABSTRACT: M. 0. Gonikberg, V. B. Miller et al. (Ref 1) published,
some time ago, a paper on the effect of the solvent (ethyl
alcohol, acetone) on the reaction rate of isotope exchange

of the dissociation degree of KJ on the pressure was not
determined at that time. How it is done by measuring the

graph of type EO-7 served as zero instrument. The measuring
bridge was regulated by the resistance box of type R-56,
The measurements were made at 201. Table I shows that the
equivalent conductivity of the solutions investigated de-
creases with increasing pressure while the dissociation

that k in acetone inereams more quickly than in ethyl alcohol.

This corresponds to the result of reference I stating that
the dissolution of KJ in acetone is accompanied by a more
intense volume contraction than the dissolution in ethyl
alcohol. This is also confirmed by the different aiLTns of the
volume variation under pressure influence (Table 3). Table 3
compares the values indicated in reference 1 and corrected

PERIODICAL: V sb.: Gorn. elektrotekhnika, M., UgletekhA'zdat, 1957, pp 558-565
ABSTRACT: A few schemes are suggested for synchronizing induction motors; the
schomes onsure field forcing on overloads and a stable operation under
synchronous conditions with sharp load fluctuation@. Same of the suggested
schemes are but little sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Most Interesting iti
the scheme intended for motors whose rotor rated current In lower than that
of the stator. Selenium rectifiers supplying the rotor winding under
synchronous conditions are connected in a three-phase circuit in ser'---!! with
the stator winding, During motor acceleration, the selenium rectifiers are
shunted on both DC and AC sides by the contacts of an auxiliary starter. After

ABSIRACT: S.(k tulngste%-base alloys containing 1, 3, 5, 10, 30 or
50 mo1% lanthanum hexaboride were prepared from alloy powder with a
particle size of 50 v by hot compacting in an argon atmosphere in
graphite molds coated with boron nitride.,j,,4It v1s found -that the
reaction of tungsten with lanthanum, hexaboride'v esults in decomposition

graphic and x-ray diffraction analysis showed that alloys containing
1, 3, or 5% lanthanum hexaboride had a two-phase structure consisting
of tungsten-base solid solution and tungsten boride (W2B) and a micro-

lanthanum hexaboride had a four-phase structure consisting of tungsten-

50% lanthanum hexaboride contained two W2B-base and LaBfi-base phases.
The alloys containing 1, 3, 5 and 10% lanthanum hexaboride haye a
resistivity at room temperature of 6.9, 17-T5, 23.1, and 41.6 kohm-cm,
respectively. Small additione of lanthanum hexaboride (about 1 molft")
sharply reduced the work function of tungsten at 1700G6 These alloys
appear to be promising materials for cathodes vorking at medium and

A13STRACT: This Author Certificate introduces a melting-casting unit for centrifug4l
casting of reactive metals. The unit consists of a vacuum chamber which contains a
centrifuge with a vertical axis of rotation. The melting crucible is mounted in the
center of the centrifuge; the molds are on the periphery. To ensure continuous
pouring of metal without extinguishing the arc and tilting the crucible, the latter is
provided with side openings connected with an annular collector installed between the
molds and the crucible.

Vulcanized butyl-rubber is highly water- and gasproofy stable against
chemical and oxygen aging, and its electric characteristics are but
slightly influenced by moisture and temperature (see also ME, 19591P
2450t 19312). In spite of some shortcomings (a slow vulcanization
process, impossibility of using oulfur-free vulcanizeru, difficulty
of obtaining non-porous products from extrusion presses) the use of_.,.l
butyl-rubber for manufacturing flexible wires and cables is of con-
siderable interest, particularly for products intended for service
in tropic climates. Rubber with a butyl-rubber base can be used as
high-voltage insulation and as a hose in cables kith fibre insulated

ABSTRACT: In the introduction to this paper it is said that in the courze of
steel casting the carbon content may be variable, v~bich may also
cause fluctuations of the thermoelectromotive force of the melt.
It is therefore of importance to study the changes of the t4ermo-
electromotive force in steel during the process of melting as 7ell
as during the process of hardening. The iollowing conditions must
be satisfied when selecting the manner of hardening: 1.) Hardening
must be carried out in a uniform m&nner over the entire zurface of
the sample. 2.) Hardening mist take place already in the course
of casting- 3-) Temperature conditions during the hardenin.7 process
must not change. The most useful way of taking samples vias that

ABSTRACT: The methods of simplification of logic output and feedback circuits for a synchri
nous machine with feedback loops are presented. An algorithm for the assignment of the in-
ternal states based on these methods is derived. The methods of decomposition of these ma-
chine s are presented with the aim of optimizing them in the sense of either minimizing the
number of memory cells, logic elements, or the number of certain type logic blocks. The
decomposition methods utilize the notion of "sem1equivalence" wWch relatep two machines
whose output states or internal states but not both are-equal. 'Orlg. art. haB: 19 fo.rmulaB,
