pounds Institute of the AS USSR) in cooperation with industrla ~institvtes. The
test system Includes tests for softening temperature, specific Impact resistance
and tension, and, for specific cases, for creep and long-time strength (Ref. 2).
The speolmeiis are disl~s of 10 mm in diameter and 4 or 2 rim thick, lOxl)x4 and 15x
IOA mm plates, and two-latoral blades of 15 to 35 mm l.cng, up to 4,trjr wide and

ABSTRACT: On January 13, 1959, Vladimir Borisovich Rcimanovskiy, Professor,
Doctor of Technical Saienceep died at the age of 63. He start-
ed his activity as an engineer in the design office of the
"Elcktroapparaill Works in 1926. Soon he became head of the
works laboratory. Since 1937t he was head of the Chair of
Theoretical Slectroteohnics at the Leningrudskiy ulektro-
tel:hnicheskiy institut avyazi-im. 114. A. Donch-Bruyovicha
(Lcningrad Communications Electrical Engineering Institute
imoni M. A. Bonch-Bruyevioh). At the same 1;1me, lie maintained
hiii relations to the works where he was a oounaelp chief
eluctrical engineer and a permanent member uf the technical
cotincil. lie is one of tha founders of the theoretical principles
for the building of high-voltage apparatus. At the chair
he-was occuuied with calculations of-traneition processes in
electric current cixuite which were also the subject of his

hub diameter (usually the width is 1 and the hub 1/4 of the outside
diameter) designed to carry vehicles over bad terrain sw h as snow,

ted to deflect as much as 35 of the profile. In the USSR testing
of the rollers size 24 x 36 x 611 gave good results, but showed the
need -to increase the outaide diameter, and the size 1000 x 1000 x
2 CZ0
, mm was designed. Equipment for vulcanizing ordinary tires oould
not be used and a new fixture had to be designed. The mounting drum
for making these rollers is illustrated. It consists of 24 hollow
vectors, 12 on each sidet each of them is connected with the oppo-
site sector by a plate. Thio drum 1:3 desiened for use on machine
SPD-A. on which it is fixed by means of the adaptor shown in FLg. 4.

Superheated water is introducei through the tube in the face of the
upper half of the press-form. rhe principle of this design is new.
To obtain circular and longitulinal grooves wire 13 is hammered on
the inner surface to protrude 0.5 mm. The press-form for vulcaniz-
ing the tire is constructionally similar to that for the tube,
except that the upper and the lowet' halves are made in two Darts.

prevented the occurrence of convulsions, In spite of
the fact that blood sugar vas lcwered to 30-40 m6
(in evoke animals convulsions occured 2--3 hours after
the Injection of Insulin). Vithin 1 to 2 hourn after
electrosleep vas terminated (5--6 hours after the In-
jection of Insulin) signs of b"erinsulinlim developed,
I.e., salivation, panting, adynaz1a; couTulsions were
occasionally seen.
