In order to take into acco=t the sharply pronounced anisotropy of single crystals the curves of the spectral distribution of photoconductivity were measured for three aratually per- pendicular directions. It has been established that for 83-1 three directions, both maxima do not change their positions, but their relative values essentially depend on the direction chosent the photoconductivity which is measur-3d along the layers has a clearly expressed short-wave maximum and a weak long-wave maximum, whereas in the photoconductivity Card 1/2 measured perpendicular to the layers the opposite is true. The hydrol~_sis ex- periments of these ethers carried out in the presence of Na CO 2 3 and CaCO 3(10-12 hours) showed that on this occasion HB:r is split off under the formation of ethers of the homologs of allyl- alcohol (II). In all these cases none of the incomplete I ethers to be expected, but only unsaturated ethers resulted. ,In the case of heating the y-ethyl bromides (I) with alcoholate the HBr cleavage takes only 2-3 hours and no etherification but a formation of allyl ethers (II) takes place which corresponds Card 1/3 to the Markovnikov rule (Ref 1). Thisway six *new 10-dihalogen derivatives of fatty hydrocarbons were syn'thetized.(Tabl 'e). All above mentioned,,conversions make possible the production of further compounds on the same basis.
