The calcification of the media and intima are often seen in plain films. It could be
confirmed that obstruction of arteries is most often encountered in places where
calcification issituatcd in the mcilia.Thus,itcanbeconcluded that in thepathogene-
sis of the arteriosclerotic clots, some mechanical factors play a part. In noti-typical
and early cases the differentiation between arteriosclerosis or Buergcr's disease is
sometimes imlx*sible when taking into consideration X-ray symptoms only. In
these cases of arteriosclerosis the decisive diagnostic factor is the narrowing of the

TEXT: The authDr generally describes the history of the Zaklady Metalur-
giczne "Pomet" (Metallurgical Plant "Pomet") in Poznah, which was merged with the
Zaklady Przemyslu Metalowego H. Cegielski (Metal Industry Plant It. Cegielski) in
Poznafi, in 1952. Since then all production sections of this plant were modernized
and expanded., A new modern molding section, cast iron foundry and gas producing
stations were built and at present further expansion and modernization of the cast
iron foundry and mechanical machining section are underway. The cast iron foundry
is adapted for production of 7,000 kg castings machined either manually or mechani-
cally. Further, an additional section producing castings of non-ferrous metal,
equipped with three smelting furnaces capable of taking a 300-kg charge each, and
fueled with industrial gas is a part of the foundry. In 1959, a project for mod-
arnization of the foundry was approved and will be completed by 1965. Further, the
