The produced signal frequency Is from zero to 20 kc, which is more than sufficient
for the purpose. The article includes detaile-d description of -11-his sv;tem opera-
tion. The oscillator was enclosed Into an organic 'glase cylinder together with the
feed unit consisting of 1,5 voitaic cells and placed into the shaft,borp.. The
measured values were recor6'.ed with a MnC~-2 (W0-2) loop oscillograph. The relative
gap in this bearing was 0 -.0023 (taking the, tpish lensth for unit). A coll~iderable
zone of pressure below -the atmospheric was obviously pr6sent, in. bh4 ~Ihall' of the
bush free of load. It was stated in numerous measurements of the hylradynamia
pressure distribution tha:t vacuum in the halt free of Load bearing n~ached 700 mm
Hg and moreat hiEh sliding speed, denpite tht relatIvely high oil feed pressure
,(up to 3.5 kg/cm~-). The trajectory of thti shaft axis motion 'was meattured with an
Ielectronic instrument,d6signed at the Central Boiler and Turbine Inst-itu-,e. It In-
cluded small inductive pickups placed in two planes at right angles. 1ho method
may be employed for determining the oil film depth in bearings, There.are 5 fig-
ures and I Soviet-bloc reference.

ABSTRACT: This Author's Certificate introduces an automatic color pyrometer which
contains a, pickup connected through a synchronous switch to an alternating square
pulse circuit followed by a circuit for comparing two signals. The unit is designed
for eliminating the effect which the finite limits of the dynamic range in the elec-
tronic channel of the measurement system have on the operation of the p3prometer over
a wide-temperature interval. A blocking generator in the comparison circuit of the
pyrometer is connected at the output, through a controlled diode to the reversible elec-
tric motor of the indicator.

dolomite brick in the walls of an -electric are"steelmolting furnacewere studied.
The authors reached the following conclusions: (1) The comparatively high CaO
content of this brick does hot have a destructive influence on the life of the brick
in the walls of the furnace,, (2) The mortar for the laying of dolomite brick is
characterized by the prosence of a small quantity of natural mineralo, such as
quartz and feldnpar. The addition of slightly molting feldspar aids tho hinding
of the mortar with brick without decreasing the refractoriness. (3) The durability
of dolomite brick in the walls of an electric arrfurnace in about 2 to times
greater than that of magnesite brick.
