A method suggested by G.R. Gollbok et al.(Ref 4) was tested by Ye.l. Zheleznova. This method In based upon a spectroscopicmeasurement of the r1radiation. In thelr-ray the elements of the thorium series there is an spectrum of - Intense line of 2)62 MeV, while in the uranium serieg the maximum energy of the intense line does not exceed 10 NeY Two measurements were used in determining the rium and ra- dium content of ores. The intensity of the tat!77 radiation was determined as well as the intensity of that part of the spectrum where the thorium series predominates. The method of Card 1 '2 ~calculation is described. Two types of radiometers were used A Radiometric Method for Determining Uraniumf SOY/32-24-8-18/43 Thorlum, and Radium in Ores in these Investigations,The radiometer-analyeer no. 1 Is a triple-canal, apparatus with a gas-filled counter, and was con- structed '~,y G.R. Theinternal surface of the form becomes covered by conchoidal cavities which spoil the external appearance of the surface of the product, and the life of the form is shortened, After each casting the forms are smeared with waste-product oil which disfigures the otherwise clean surface of the products and tends to penetrate through plasters. Furthermorel.the adhesion between the concrete coated with oil and the cement Is greatly reduced, These shortcomings can be eliminated -by using protectivi. plastic type insets inside the metal forms* These insets, consi3ting of INIniplast" foils, . .are fixed to the inner side of the walls of the form and. give full- protection against corrosion for two years and even more. The 4iniplast surface does not adhere firmlY ~. Card 1/2 to the concrete surface and the form can be used only ' . , ~0C. When curing products up to temperatures of 100 - 120 ZHEIEZNYAK. -M.
