Title Experimental Uses of Diatomite in Veterinary Surgery.

Abstract Diatomite (light silt type poroua soil of mountainous origin,
consisting of amorphous silica, abstractor's note) posses-
ses great adsorbing capacity. Thus, when used for treating
wounds, it speeds up processes of self-purification and re-
generation considerably. Because of its oznnizing proper-
ties, diatomite may be successfully used in treating putres-
cent processes. It is particularly effective in the treat-
ment, time by 5-9 days. Diatomite is available in the form
of powdj--r or ointment, and is used in wound packe and our-
gical dressings. When diatomite is ~Azcd, expenditures for
treating of animals become lowered. L I. Magda.
