a Cu catalyst (CT) at 250-4000C. In certain methods of synthesis,
besides the most valuable R 2Sici2 other compounds such as RSiC1 3, :1 R3Sin,
RSiHC1 2, R4 Si, SiHC1 3# S'Cl4 and traces of some aliphatic hydrocarbons
also are separated from the reaction mixture. The Cu-CT may activate
the pyrolysis of RC1. The importance of these aide reactions :o~sn be
reduced by supplying RCI without excess and at a rate depending on:
operating conditions, such as: the activity of the 'reacting solid phase.
(Si and Cu); the temperature and contact conditions of the gaseous and
solid phases, i.e. the fineness of the contact mass; the speed and I
method of stirring; the design and dimensions of the reactor,,and so on.

The pyrolysis,of RC1 occure whon the rate of Its nupoly in ihe reaction
zone exceeds a certain optimum value depending on the conditions of
operation. According to the present patent, the rate of 'supply of Rol
is modified when the activity of the contact mass and other paramete

Rol at a low rate, which is gradually increased as th;e,raite.of reaofilon
