Budker et al. (Atomnaya energiya Y. 3.9, 498., :L965). The parametersJuvestigated were the magnitude of the injected current., the argulax divergence and treawerse dlzen--~~. sions of the beam., its energy and energy spread, and the position and angle at the: exit from the ele-:ttron-optical channal. The number of Injected particles and the phase difference botween the input ard output were measured with lead'probeso The: first revolutions of the captured CUXTent were observed by recordln~ the syncbrotron radiation with a photomultipUer. The cal#ured and stored c=enta were also meaax&ed-. with -the aid of the synchrotron radiation. The radial position of the orbits V" con- trolled either by regulating their redii by changing the frequency.of the accal~mting Card 312 ...... ........ L 07062-67 ACC NR: AP6021624 voltage or by producing azimuthal moilifications of the mg4etic field with additiodal turns. The positions of the orbits at the col-Usion location were roughly monitored by means of an optical television spitem., and more accurately:,by a remote1y c6ntrailed diaphragm located at the place of ermounter, The system used to measure VW1,11mi 0- sity,, to control the radial and azizm&Jal positions of the plasmoids., to determinathe phase dimensions of the plasmoids., cuid to mo nitor and atudly~ vexioua~coherence e.ffects are briefly described. The lifetime of the beam vas monitored continuously with a I special electronie system which detewmined the I%Withmie derivative of a digmi PMV- Portional to the current in the track. Test Scale for the Combination of Colors The author proposes a universal form of the test scale for the:com- bining of colors. The printed forms of such a scale are prepared only once and can serve for printing the test scale of arq maps because the scale gives 760 different shades for combination of 10 colors by pairs. Hav:i'n'g' studied the displacement in space of baropleiones and baroantipleiones, Arctowski was led to the concluslion -that displacemen4;s of masses of air take place suddien- lyt by leaps as :It were, in the lower.regions of the troposphere and kit certain points in:time,~ These dip- placements are reflected on the curves depicting the course of meteorological elements by bharacteriatio~ leaps or discontinuities. They are followed, he found.:- by changes in the nature of meteorological processes* To this phenomenon, Arotowski gave the riame:of disoon-: tinuity and he found that,it takes place not only in time but also in space.
