Expts on the use of azotogen were carried out over large areas at so*hozes in various
oblasts. of the Ukrainian SSR. Azotogen was found to be effective,in improving yields.
Azotogen prepd on the basis of the local azobacter strain K was mre effective in 4xpts.
on wheat,, corn, potatores,, and sugar beets than that prepd.with the std strain 534 More
work should be done on the isolation of highly active azobacter strains from Ukrainian
soils.

Abstract : An investigation is =de of the absorption of secona sound,
described earlier (Referat Zhur - Fizika, 1956,, 673.5) ex-
tended tovard lower temperatures (down to 0.8r K) and to-
ward higher frequencies (200 -- 4,000 cycles). The proce-
dure used in this investigation is the same as :Ln:the pre-
vious one. The substitution of glass relleetors for the
plexiglass reflectors used in the ends of the resonators
has improved considerably the frequency characteristic of
the resonators and mae it possible to get rid of the ef-
fect of transverse resonances (at;d- 2 - 4 kc) on -the
