Abstract: [Authors' Gorman summary modifiod] The antitoxin, produced by" the Immunological institute in Zagreb) proved hclpt~ul in 11.0 diverse cases of staphylodermy. The clinical effects in most of the cases volved the disanpearance of traces of now follioulA:~ infections. No undesirable side-effects were noted. The antitoxin therefore seems! suitable for application in human boings and should find a place in modern combined therapy in this field. The pre-Cambrian Krivoi Rog series (called also Saksagan series) is divided into three layers; the middle, comists alternatively of rocks rich and poor in iron (ore- and, schist h,orizons;)-!Accor= ding to the changes of the content of minerals~in the course ox metamorphosis three groups of rocks can be distinguished: A. Vie reaction of the individual chemical elenents in the course of metamorphosis is discussed; here it can be distinguished between: 1) Elements the content of which is not changed to a considerable extent in the case of progressive metamorphosis. iron. 2) Elements the content of which charges,in the course of the -oro= cess, an increase in the one ro.,k corresponds, however, to a del crease in another. silicon, alauintm, magnesiumt 3) Elements the content of whi,-,h only in..: or decreases. sodium, potassium3 GO 2* Rearrangements to this extent can occur only by,the transpoirt of solutions. These infections occur in USSR, Scandinavia, 'England, China, Indonesia and South America. 'me author refers to 2 outbreaks of S. anatum infections. One ou~tbrealt involved 42 construction workers in a southem town of USSR. Abrupt fever, headiche and malaise were common in all patients. The Widal test with S. anatum was positive. Consumption of poorly prepared food (gwsc) was responsible for the iffness.
