Translationo In order to xiden the assortment of effective fungicides for
controlling cotton xilt, it is suggested that use as systemic fungicides
be made of asym~aetric diamides and amidohydrazides of alkylphosphonie and
alkylthiopbosphonic acids of the formula R'R"N(R)P(X)(NH)nR"'(I) (R and R'
alkyls R" r H or alkyls R"' unsubstituted or suustituted phenyls n = I
or 2~ X = 0 or S). I is obtained from amines or hyd.razides and alkylphos-
phonic or alkylthiophosphonic acid chlorides. The preparations were tested
under field conditions on naturally infected plants. Experimental results
shoxed that, as compared with control, I possesses definite systemic activity,
euppx'esging the development of cotton xilt. Data are presented on tests of
I in comparison xith phosbutyl.

thiophonates, morpholines, pyrazoles, etc. Some attention is given to the
mechanism of action of these compounds, as. xell as to the specific disease
inducing activity of various cle.sses of frngi. Toxicological data are
reported in xaspact to the xarm-blooded animals --~ principally rats.
Possibility of practical application of individual preparations is discuss�d.
