Abstract: An attachment is described for continuous recording of gas electron-
diffraction patterns the sensitive element of cahich is a scintillation counter.
The variations in density of the vapor jet from the investigated substance and
the brightness of the primary electron beam are compensated for by application
of a two-channel recording system at the output of which ttie ratio of t}~e .in-
tensities of the scattered electron emission recorded by each channel. is fired.

nical specifications for the plants and units are presented.
Considering the proposed new technical solution, the censtructi.on of
condensation electric power plants with 800 mel;ak~att units operating on ~;as

Abstract: The effect of zircot;ium and titanium on the prornrties of weld
,joints for a mol;rbdenum-carbon alloy was investi~-ated. InE;ots of the a11c~ti1~
were produced in an electron-bew~ furnace and rolled into ~`leet 1 m~ thick.
The sheets were welded usin3 a tun~;st;en electrode in ~>, controlled helium z~t:~~os-
phere. One heat of the trio-C a11Oy COTIta].Iled 0.0%7,n C (heat 1); two heats of
the Mo-Zr-C allo;r were made, one contairinE; 0.04 wt~~ C, 0.lb wt.r~ 73r (heat 2),
the other --0.5 wt ~ C, 0.34 wt.;~ Zr (heat 3); and two heats of the t~,~.~-`~"i-C
alloy, one containinC O.Oj wt ,~ C, 0.014 ~'t �~ Ti (heat 4), the other--0.0`,5 wt
C, 0.026 wt N Ti (heat 5) . Alloying; with Ti and Zr inc~~cased the weld ~ioint
ductility but reduced cold brittleness. Ti was less effective than 7,r, which
is probably associated with the fact that small additions o,' Ti increase solu-
bility of carbon in Ido in the solid state or bond the cai�t~on into carbides. Ti

Abstract: While the approximation theories of the rubidium laser
offered by earlier papers give a satisfactory account of the pro-
cesses taring place, they do not describe the frequency charac-
teristics of the laser and cannot be used to compute shifts in
oscillation frequency caused by optical pumping. The authors be-
gin their more detailed consideration of rubidium lasers with ne
equation defining the matrix of the basic state density for K b~~l
atoms. In the derivation of this equation, obtained from arl
earlier paper (Alekseyev, Bazarov, and Levshin, Radiotekhni.ka i
