Abstract: The propagation of surface electromafinetic ~~~aves along the
boundary of a plasma is studied,considering perturbations in plasma
density by the self-consistent field of the surface wave, hndcr the
conditions present in an isotropic plasma, a dispersion equation for
the surface wave is produced and it is demonstrated that heterogeneity
of the plasma limits possible values of the field amplitude of the
surface wave. The dependence of the maximum value of the amplitude of
the electric field on oscillating frequency is also found. Furthermore,
the case of propagation of a surface wave across a permanent imagnetic
field is studied. -- ~-

Abstract: Tr;e article gives a description of an apparatus de-
signed for studying nuclear structure and the churUcter of the
interactions of electrons and gamma quanta with a maximum energy
of up to 300 l~~ev. A focused beam of the 300-Nev 1',har'kov l~.nc;dr
acceler~:tor goes from a parallel transfer system over a vacuum
electronic conductor into a scattering chamber. Revolving around
the 1Gtter on a fixed platform are two mabnetic analyzers designed
to record secondary reaction particles produced b,y the gamma
quanta or electrons. Situated on an extension of the electronic
