Conference of Instructors of All-Union Correspondence Electrical Engineering and
Communications Institute, No. 5), Moscow, 1970, pp 62-68 (Translated from
Referativnyy Zhurnal Kibernetika, No. 4, April, 1971, Abstract No. 4 V624 by
V. Mikheyev).
Translation: Two methods are studied of increasing reliability in synthesis of
the control device of an automatic commutation unit: the use of majority and
quadrupled logic and a comparative evaluation of the volume of equipment is pre-
sented on the example of the control device for a three-link commutation circuit.
The specifics of the logics used and the corresponding logic functions of forma-
tion of the connecting unit are noted.

DRUG RESISTANCE IN MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS AND EFFICACY OF
TREATMENT WITH SENSITIVE PREPARATIONS

191 guinea pigs were used in the experiments. 5 strains of Mvcobacteriurn tuberculo-
sis resistant to tubazid (5-25 Pg/ml) or streptomvein (100 pg!ml) were studied. Resistant
cultures -of Mycobacteriurn tuberculosis isolated from the patients phlegm were previoustv
plated out on egg media containing the drug for clearance from sensitive strains.
Two weaks after the inoculation (0.01 mg of the culture administered subcutaneously)
one group of the guinea pigs was treated with phthivazid administered Draliv in a dose
of 13-15 mg/kg and the offer group was treated with streptorrivcin administe-ed intra-
musculasly' in a dose of 13000-1,5000 Units/kg. The survived animals were sacrif:ced

tuberculosis. The experiments revealed Tio positive results in a nurnber C;f animpls treated
with the drug, to which the cultures of Alycobaeterium tubercuics!s -,vere sciisitive in
vitro. In some animals only isufficient effect of the so caEed r~aflected effect of drug
resistance was observed. The presence of resistant and more virulent sensitive cultures
of AWcobacterium tuberculosis in the animals inade the irealment successful owing to the
effeci of the drugs on sensitive microbes.

Abstract: A study was made of the two ways that: Lhc, brain

from two points of view: by its physical pnr,-im(:"tCr!,. and by it~-,
significance to the organism. The brain is cap,,LIo of
these two quAlititively different typescf informttion, which per-
mits the evaluation of a separate stimulus, specLmeri or sl.tuat-ion
from the point of view of its objective (independent of t1lc in-
dividual) signs and from the point of view of its subjecrive chare-
cteristics, i. e.,its significance for a Ylven Person. 33ota of

change, depending on the situation, the problems confrontin,~- ti-,,e
individiial and the congenital personality traits. Chancre of t~-.e
"qualitative composition" of the information involves a wh.olc ser---os
of perception, thought and behavior chan" ?es. Perfection of cc-.-ebral-
organization is manifested in the possibility of regulat`n- -;-.e 4,-1-
flow of one or the other type of information, and switchin- per-
ception from one type to the other.
Attention was drawn to the fact that the well -kno-,I-n corilipeti-
tion between the two types of information leads to the unique
"perception parado>el: the more we know about the objective characror-
istics of the stimulus, the less precise are its subjective ci~.nractcr-
istics.
