Abstract; Literature data on the morphology and function of tne blood-thymus
barrier are analyzed, and experimental results on tbla controversial proolem
are presented. Since intravenous injections of splecut homagenates from donor
rabbits into rabbits which are recipients of skin gra;rt-s did not suppress
tissue rejection but sinular intrathymup injections d1d stypi-ess the tis:~ue
rejection reaction, the conclusion is drawn that the thymtz.-j participatus in
immunological reactions. It was also concluded that i~ntigana in sufficiently
high concentrations penetrate the blood"thymus h2rrier.
