ABSTRACT: In the article the authors study the stability of a closed., sphe-.-Lcal
shell with a core under a uniform e.%-ternal pressure. An, exact model 11.*.ing use
of the general equations of elasticity theory and an approximate model riald-rc
use of one equation in elasticity theory are presented.. The cases of a sol-id
core., a core -vrith a cavity, and a core having a shell or solid body inside of
it are examined.

Abstract: Experiments conducted vith roe deer, saiga antelopeii, and Caspian
deer (marals) shaved that these animls are highly sunceptible.to infection
with foot-and-mouth disease. An outbreak of foot -axid-mouth dioease caused by
the virus variant occurred in 1967 among cattle that were isolated from

contact with other cattle. The virus was introduced by a~ hunter who had brought
the rarcass of an infected saiga antAklope into the locallty. Marss infections

Abstract: The Scientific Research Institute of the Merchant Marine has in-
vestigated the thermal state of the turbines of the main'TS-2 turbogear unlL
installed or- the tanker "Miassi Messaud," built at the Baltiyskiy shipyard
for Algiers, in order to determine the course of the cooling process taking
place in the turbine when the ship is temporarily halted, The obtained data
can be of use in designating the method for maintaining che turbogear unit
in a state of readiness, during a temporary halt, in order to increase its
reliability and maneuverability. 6 figures, 3 reference-.
