USSR REFORKATSKIY, A. A. "Standardization of Transliteration of Russian Text5 with Latin Letters" -Nauch. Tekhn. Inform. Sb. V5es. ljl--t Natich. i Tekhn. InForm. tScientific and Technical Information, Collection of All-Union Institute for Scientific and Technical Information], 1972, Series 2, No 11, pp 32-36 (Translated from Referativnyy Zhurnal Kibernetika, No 4, 1973, Abstract No 4V751, by the author). Translation: The status of the problem of the system of transliteration of Russian texts using Latin letters and the nature of a possib1c standard in this area are discussed. Primary attention is given to understanding of Russian graphics, requiring differentiation of. 1) letters, 2) syllabemes and 3) graphic approaches. Only considering these distinctions is it pos- sible to recommend a given system of transliteration (ei0er 5ingle-let-ter system using diacritical marks and the basic letters of the Latin alphabet, or utilization of the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet alone, but. with digraphs and trigraphs). A table appended to the article shows the transliter- tion system of the Academy of Sciences LISSR(in two versions), the ISO 9 system, four American systems and a plan for a standard developed by the All Union Scientific Research Institute of Technical Information, ClassificaLion and Coding. 120 PROCESSING DATE--18SEP70 1/2 028 UNCLASSIFIE-0 TITLE--OBSERVATIONS OF TRANSPORT PHENOMENA AND OF ATOMIC MOTION IN THE LIQUID PHASE -U- AlJTHOR-(05)-AZf-~~P,., ANDREEVs, A.A.# KOTOV, B.A.r MAMADALIEV, MAP OKUNEVA, N.M.
