The theory of flexible plates is used for constructing the solving elluation. "Application of the Atomic-Absorption Method in Determining the Fields of Atoms and Ions in Spectral Light Sources", Minsk, Zhurnal Prikladnoy Spektroskcpii, Vol XV, No 6, 1971,.pp 984-988 Abstract: A photographic and photoelectric method of recording atomic and ionic fields in spectral light sources based on atomic-absorption measurements was developed. The optical nysten of the device permitt; a detailed picture of the distribution of the optical densities in the source to be obtained urith high spatial resolution. The clectric.recording circuit provides for separa- tion of the absorption signal against a background of- strong natural radiation of the source. By the photoelectric procedure it is possible to measure the atomic and ionic concentration fields the resonance lines of which are trithin the opera- ting range of the spectrograph and withiti t,he range of 1,vectral sensitivity of the phota-multiplIer. The radiation intensity of a tube vith. A diagram of the isolines of the optical density of the acetylene-air flame for the 422.6 nm atomic line of calcium is given. Graphs are also presented for the optical density of the central cross section of the electrode spacing of a direct-current electric are for the 422.6 TLn atomic line of calcium and the 328.0 nm atomic line of silver. The graphs show that calcium and silver atoms are observed at a distance of up to 10 TLrq fron the discharge axis. In the central section of the electric arc plasma the calcium atom. concentration was less than in the pi~ripheral regions. This arose from significant ionization of the calcium atoms in the conn-al part of the plasma. The solution of the Abelian integral equation is required to convert from the measured optical density fields to the radial distribution of the atoms. The determining factor is the pH. Acid or solvated neutral Mg naphthenates cause the formation of strong flakes of non-sulfide Ca, Ba, ~4C03,and dolomite minerals, making their flotation difficult.
