"A Study of the Properties of A2 Influenza Virus Strains Isolated Durin- the
1969 InfluenzaEpidemic"

Translation: The antigenic and'biologinzal properties of 19 influenza virus
strains isolated from patients in kloscow, Ftostov-ra -Donw., and Voronezh during
the 1969 epidemic were investi-ated. It was established that all of the iso-
lated strains were varieties of Hong XongAZ influenza-. Strains were sensitive
to inhibitors and nonpathogenic- and nontoxic to adult white mice. Inoculation
of. newborn white mice with these strains caused death in 50-6Qp of the experi-
mental animals. The strains e.,Lqibited -,;oak enzymatic activity and caused little
elution from chick erythrocytes even.aftor 2- hours of intA~Draction. A some-what
greater aluent, activity was displayed by mutants resi-stant to inhiiAtors. The
strains isolated in 1969 were not transformd into markers uhich inJicates that
they were genetically different from the A2 1nfluenza strains iqolated ii

Translation: The problem is studied ofperformance of acceptance testing of
products by sequential- analYsis- A method is presented for the calculations
necessary for the performance of sequential,analysis in the case of a finite
set. - Based on a precise formula (hyperg6ometric distribution), the author
uses examples to estimate the accuracy. of, calculations, using the binomial dis-
tribution. A comparison is ~presented with -,the. formulas 'for the generalized
Poisson (reverse binomial) distribution. The results of~.the comparison are
presented in Tables and Graphs.

by comparing the characteristics. of the interaction of.charged and neutral
primary particles- A weak functional dependence between the inelastIcity

coefficient

prinary particles were obtained for interactions of bailron with ED > 200
