ABSTRACT: A method for determining the base resistance of drift transistors is pre-
'sented. The method consists of the following: the transistor is connected in a com-
=on emitter configuration and the input volt-ampere characteristics (base current v3
linput pulse amplitude) are found in the reverse conduction region of the emitter
,3unction. The base resistance is determined from the slope of the volt-ampere charact-
atiatics. Positive pulses were applied to a P-402 (p-n-p) transistor. When a reverse
applied across the emitter junction exceeded a given level (several volts) che
ibn egan, to conduct. Its resistance decreased, and all voltage was applied aerosol

TITLE: Method of curing epoxy resin castings

TEXT: Epoxy resins are 8ured with a mixture of aliphatic and aromatic
amines, added at 15 - 40 C. Curing occurs through increase in temperature
to 60 - 750 C caused by the exothermic reaction. 100 parts of resin are
treated with 6 - 15 parts of a mixture of dieihylene triamine .)r of
another aliphatic amine with m-phenylene diamine or with anothar aromatic
monocarboxylic polyamine. As the suggested method utilizes the heat
effect it permits the casting of products much heavier than can be cast by
the known low-temperature procedures. Example: A mixture of 21jO g
diethylene triamine and 195 g m-phenylene dismine is added to -.,).6 kg
epoxy resin (0-003 mole epoxy groups per gram) containing 0.9 I:g styrene
or methyl methacrylate. The composition is carefully stirred tind caet.
Curing occurs after 24 hrs. After 7 days the products attain their final

Abstract ZKuthors- English summary modified-7: The period of hormonal crisis
in new rn piglets was investigated on the Sasis of vaginal-cytological analy-
sis. The estrogenic effect of the vaginal mucous membrane was confirmed; it
reaches a maximum on the 7th day. The intensity of the effect disappears an
the 10th day. It seems that gonadal hormones of the piglet aro stimulated

TEXT; Spot welders are divided into two groups: welders for thick welds
using a large electrode pressure, and welders for welding thin sheets at a fast
rate. In the production of automobiles, motor-cycles and other mass-produced
items where 0.7 - 1.2 mm steel is used a high production rate. e.g., 250 - 400
spots per min, is sometimes reqtiired. For serial and large-lot production of
items from low-carbon steel with Orb - 30 kg/=2 the Resistance WeldAr Manufao-
turers Association (RWMA) has recommended welding regimes and evaluated weld
qualities according to the 3 classes given in the table:

These conditlon8 are satisfied by theBK -8o (VK-80) high-speed welder working at
the rates of 140, 280 and 420 spots per minute. It is designed for joining I + I
sheets in 0.04 see at a rate of 420 spots per minute. The complete welding cycle
lasts 0.14 sec. If according to the quality evaluation table for welding 1 + I

sheets the current is 9,000 amp for a welding time of 0.16 see, then this machi-ie
gives an effective welding current of 18,000 amp for 0.04 sec. The welder has in
arm length of 1,ODO - 1,200 mm, the effective 11ft of the top electrode Is 10 mn,
the auxiliary lift 100 mm. The electrode squeezing force is 160 - 300 kg. The
welding current is adjusted over a wide range by a branch commutator and by elec-
tronic regulation. The welder has a modern electronic control system fuid a pneu-
momechanical electrode actuator, which makes the welder independent of rectifiers.
The welder Is not very sensitive to fluctuations of air pressure In the network
and has a low air consumption.
