TITLE: News in Brief
PERIODICAL: Zavodskaya laboratoriya, 1960, Vol. 26, No. 8. p. 1028
TEXT: The authors mention a method of producin& and investigating wire
samples by electron microscopy. The wire is wound up to a square frame
which ig put into polystyrene powder. The polystyrene powder is then
melted by heating. The sample thus obtained is cooled down and cut into
two pieces. The surface is etched in the usual way by an FeCl~ solution
diluted with ethyl alcohol. Titanium or coal replicas are used fcr th'F~
electron microscopic investigaticn.

TE7T: A special electrical measuring table for quick determination of the
resistance of microwire is sugEested. An overall view of this measi~rinE
table is shown in a figure. The microwire is under sli(~ht tEnsion fixed
on exactly polished steel plates. The insulation of thu microwire is cut
through by screws with semioval knives fixed to their lower ends. The
