Subject: personnel with Military Reserve Status
Reference is made to your _lemorandum of April 27,
1948, and to subsecuent conversations on the above subject
with of your agency. This office
interposes no objection to your arranging for the mobili-
zation assignment to CIA of those employees of the Depart-
ment of State on detail with CIA who have military status,
and for their inclusion in the CIA special program covering
requirements for maintaining such status.
I feel that CIA is taking a sound step in this
program, and I have been interested for some time in devel-
oping a similar program for the employees in my area who have
military reserve status. It would therefore be helpful if
we could have the benefit of further discussions with Mr.
hen your final plans are developed. It would also
be appreciated if you would bear in mind our interest in
this program, and consider the feasibility of (including the
reserve personnel of this area of the Department of State
in the CIA 'grogram.)
