Memorandum to be attached to NSC 50:
1. At the NSC meeting on July 7th, the National
Security Council approved the recommendations in NSC 50
subject to further study and recommendation by State and
Defense on the desirability of separate ,-Mein (para-
graph 6 a (1) ). a aGtti+ w~ i.~ 7S w.34 s,
2. The President has been informed of the Council's
action on paragraph 10. The Attorney General has been
invited to have the Federal Bureau of Investigation a
member of the Intelligence Advisory Committee, pursuant
to paragraph 3. NSCID No. 1, as amended, has been issued
in revised form as of July 7, and approved actions have
been transmitted either to the Director of Central Intelli-
gence or to the Director of Central Intelligence and
the Intelligence Advisory Committee as appropriate.
