Scheuer, Chairman, Development and Popula- tion Committee RE CIA Brieiii~g on Worid Population, Crisis The Central Intelligence Agency has recently completed an extremely important report entitled Population, Resources and Politics in the Third [world: The Long View. The report examines the impact on both developed and developing countries of the global population crisis. This notice invites you to a classi- fied briefing by the analyst who authored the report, this Thursday, March 15. While the research for this report has been gathered for years, the analysis and projections are even more startling than ex- pected. Likewise, the conclusions underline the urgent need for Congress to address both the problems and the solutions. For instance: * What are the security ramifications of massive urban unemployment? * What are the military implications of severe water and energy shortages? * How should a democratic society like ours deal- with border security and growing immigration? The briefing will be given by author of the STAT report and Director of Research, Office of Global Issues, Directorate of Intelligence, CIA. DATE: Thursday, March 15 PLACE; 2105 Rayburn Building TIME: 11:00 a,m._ Since the report is classified "SECF,tET," the briefing will be for MEi`1BERS ONLY.
