Approved For Release 2008/08/27: CIA-RDP86B00337R000200320013-4 98TH CONGRESS 1ST SESSION SO-779 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NOVEMBER 18, 1983 Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary AN ACT Entitled the "Intelligence Personnel=and Probation Officers Protection Act". 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That chapter 51 of title 18 of the United States Code, section 4 1114, is amended- 5 (a) by inserting "or attempts to kill" after "kills"; 6 (b) by striking out "while engaged in the perform- 7 ance of his official duties or on account of the perform- 8 ance of his official duties" and inserting in lieu thereof 9 "or any United States probation officer or pretrial Approved For Release 2008/08/27: CIA-RDP86B00337R000200320013-4 Approved For Release 2008/08/27: CIA-RDP86B00337R000200320013-4 2 1 services officer, or any officer or employee of any de- 2 partment or agency within the Intelligence Community 3 (as defined in section 3.4(f) of Executive Order 12333, 4 December 4, 1981, or successor orders) not already 5 covered under the terms of this section"; and 6 (c) by inserting before the period at the end there- 7 of a comma and the following: "except that any such 8 person who is found guilty of attempted murder shall 9 be imprisoned for not more than twenty years".
