NARCOTICS HEARING
--Working on improving the testimony with appropriate people. Hate to
say this, but I'm not overly optimistic.
--DDO would prefer no transcript be taken of compartmented session. OLL
advises if we ask ahead of time, request will likely be turned down. If
you ask Senators personally at the time, we have a better shot. What do
you think?
--Who do you want to go with you?
--Do you want to schedule a session on Tuesday with whoever you choose
from above to go over graphics, questions, etc.
--Budget figures are being pulled together for your background.
--DEA sent OMB copy of their statement. Arnie Donahue has consequently
asked for copy of yours. Nave legitimately had I~im told it's still being
written. Don't know why we need to do this, but understand he's supposed
to be helpful. Shall we give him a copy of what we end up with?
--OLL suggest, & NSA/DEA concurs, compartmented session should also
include Schmidt, Minority Counsel, and Keith Hall. What do you think?
