SUBJECT: Distribution of SNIE on The Soviet Reactions to Stealth
1. At the 26 June NFIB meeting, the Subject SNIE was approved, and it was
agreed that distribution would be limited. The DIA representative,
at an early date.' On 15 July the DDCI received from General Williams the
proposed list which recommended 50 copies. (Copy of list is attached.)
2. I believe that the large majority of the recipients have justification
to receive a copy of the document. There are several, however, that I think
could be eliminated or the number of copies reduced. They are:
DUSD(P) -- Under Secretary will receive a copy
USD(R&E)/ATSD(AE) -- Atomic Energy not part of SNIE
DIA (reduce from 20 to 10)
DAMO-SS (Director of Army Plans) -- Army Stealth not part of SNIE.
was asked by you to provide a proposed DoD distribution list
The proposed reduction would result in a distribution of 37 rather than
50 copies.

SUBJECT: Distribution of SNIE on The Soviet Reactions to Stealth
1. After much prodding, the memorandum from General Williams on the
proposed DOD distribution list for the SNIE was received today. The
number suggested is 50, a reduction of one from the earlier informal DIA
request.
2. I don't have a good feel as to what you want for a limited
distribution Estimate but I have no objection to the proposed
recipients. If you want a reduction, I would recommend the following
deletions:
DUSD(P)
USD(R&E)/ATSD(AE)
DIA (reduce from 20 to 15)
AFXOXZ (Director of Plans)
