Y. 10027 June 7, 1983 Office of Academic Liaison Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D.C. 20505 A student of mine, is interested in a job at the CIA and took the test in January. Since then, not only has he not heard whether you want to hire him, he has not heard anything from the Agency at all. I know there is no reason to expect your bureaucracy to be faster than anyone else's, but this does seem to me to be unfortunately slow. is very able and had he not been sick for a month this Spring might well have other offers by this time. Even if nothing can be done to speed up the process, perhaps applicants could. be sent a letter every couple of months both to inform them of progress and to show them that the Agency is still very interested in them.
