SUBJECT : Request for IC/FAR Research Project
Information for Second Quarter FY 1978
1.II In accordance with your request, you will find
the research summaries (Form DS-1728) on those projects in ORD
which we feel fall within the area of "research in foreign affairs"--
that is, by the wildest stretch of our imagination, these projects
could be considered research in those areas.
2. Although I am aware that your due date on this
materia has long since past, it is precisely this uncertainty on
our part that these or similar programs conducted by ORD would fall
under the State Department cognizance that caused the delay.
Nevertheless, after considerable discussion at the DD/S&T level, it
was agreed that we would do our best to comply, and the programs
included in the attachment were selected as being most relevant to
your request.
