OPTIONAL FORM NO. 10 JULY 1093 EDITION AP &111 pap A 1 ~MJQR06 : COL Memorandum 25X1A Coordinator for Academic Relations, NFAC 25X1A BOS-44-78 DATE: 21 February 1978 SUBJECT: Invitation to Dr. Jerome Wiesner, President, MIT from the Director, CIA 13 February 1978 1. Dr. Jerome(Wiesne, President MIT) accepted the Director's invitation on 15 February 1978 after no g that he will cancel a 2. As you probably know, Dr, Wiesner was the late President Kennedy's Scientific Advisor and recalled that when he worked in Washington the Agency was one of his principal sources of help and support. He has been distressed by some more recent attacks on the Agency, which he still believes is probably doing a good Job and is definitely needed, and is quite willing to help the Agency if he can. 3. Dr. Wiesner stated he has a rather detailed knowledge of the various Agency components and their responsibilities and is therefore not very interested in a tour of Headquarters such as might be given to those more unfamiliar with its activities. He also requested as much information as possible about the meeting, as soon as the Director's plans are firm. He was assured that we will keep him promptly informed. 25X1A AND METHODS INVOLVED ET E2 IMPDET CL BY 001595 proved For I is h>A~R~JQ RQ, 'yQ $ i A#5,RPQR,39Paj50025-7 JHM/ec WARNING ;'NOTICE SENSITIVE INTELLIGENCE SOURCES 6 800985 ROOW00150025-7
