Approved For Relewe 2001/12/05: CIA-RDP86B00985R00000160024-7 30 May 1978 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD SUBJECT: Conversation with President Steven Muller 1. Dr. Muller has accepted and confirmed Admiral Turner's invitation to visit the Agency on June 14. He will be arriving at approximately 0900, although he says that heavy traffic could delay him somewhat and will have his own car and driver. He will most likely have to leave at approximately 4:30 in order to get back to Baltimore for an early evening session. 2. He has no difficulty with the discussions being conducted at the Secret level. 3. His preference for a personalized briefing is on the general topic of world hunger. He told me that he has recently been appointed to serve on a Presidential commission chaired by Sol Linowitz and Peter Bourne which will be making long-term recommendations on the subject of world hunger. Muller says that he is an absolute layman on this subject and will be grateful for any kind of substantive support. He is a political scientist most interested in Western European affairs particularly Italy and Germany. Muller is "totally indifferent" concerning press coverage of his visit. He neither seeks publicity about his visit nor would he shrink from any. He said that he "would not be embarrassed if there were publicity." 4. I left it with Muller that we would not be in touch again directly until June 14 unless something unexpected arises. Approved For Release 2001/12/05 : CIA-RDP86B00985R000300160024-7
