MEMORANDUM FOR: Associate Deputy Director for Intelligence
SUBJECT Request to Talk to Classes at Auburn and
Troy State Universities
1. Professors Jacob Walkin, Department of Political
Science, Auburn University, and Curtis Porter, Department of
History, Troy State University (Montgomery, Alabama) have
invited me to give a series of talks on Eastern Europe at
their respective institutions during the period 5-8 May.
Audiences would consist of undergraduate and graduate students
of Slavic affairs, plus some faculty members.
2. I request permission to give these talks. I will not,
of course, discuss any classified information or any matters
currently affecting the Agency. (This trip would be the
third appearance in four years of an East Europe Branch
representative on the Auburn campus; Professors Walkin and
Porter are thoroughly familiar with the ground rules covering
such visits.)
