MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for National Foreign
Assessment Center
SUBJECT Request to Participate in a Conference
at West Point
1. I request approval to participate as a co-
chairperson of the round table on "East-West Relations:
China" at the Student Conference on United States Affairs
(SCUSA) sponsored by the United States Military Academy
at West Point. The purpose of the conference is to
bring together outstanding college students to examine
American foreign and national security affairs. They
will be orga.nized into round tables with a particular
geographic or functional orientation. I will be assisting
approximately fifteen students in this exchange. No
classified material will be involved.
2. The conference is scheduled for November 15-18,
1978. Transportation and living expenses will be covered
by the Academy. I will be introduced as a CIA employee.
