Approved For Qatease 2005/01/10 : CIA-RDP86B00985iWO0400060007-6 CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY WASHINGTON. D.C. 20505 August 4, 1980 Mr. Mike Reilly C/0 Congressman Tom Foley Office 1201 Longworth HOB Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Mr. Reilly: . STATINTL Thank you for your letter of July 16, 1980 regarding a possible speaker for your program at Gonzaga University. turned your letter over to me as I have recently inherited the task, or opportunity, of providing speakers for college and university groups. I have delayed writing to you until I could survey our assets. here at the Agency and provide you with a list of topics for your consideration. As you can see from the attached, we have a fairly large number of subjects which our analysts can address. I believe we have competent speakers who can present highly informative lectures, at the unclassified level, on any of the subjects listed. Would you please review the list and let me know which topic (please select at least three in order of preference as our analysts occasionally are away from the office) you wish to have presented and the date and time when the lecture is to be given. Other details, such as who will be in the audience (e.g. citizens of Spokane, members of the press, etc.) and whether transportation and accommodations for the speaker will be provided are also desired. I await your response. Sincerely, Associate Coordinator for Academic Relations and External Analytical Support Enclosure: List of Topics for Lectures STATINTL Approved For Release 2005/01/10 : CIA-RDP86B00985R000400060007-6 Approved For Release Q05/01/10 : CIA-RDP86B00985R00040W0007-6 July 16, 1980 STATINTL 0 A member of your staff mentioned your name in regards to invitations for speakers to various colleges and uni- versities. As chairman of the speaker program at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, I request a speaker from the Central Intelligence Agency. Recognizing the limitations of the CIA to send speakers to address certain issues, if you could recommend various issues that a member of the CIA can address that would be both interesting and informative to the students of Gonzaga and the citizens of the Spokane area, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be grateful if you could send your response to me soon, as I am leaving for Spokane on the 10 of August. You can contact me at Congressman Foley's Office, 1201 Longworth HOB, Washington, D.C. 20515. With every good wish.
